All contestants must be amateurs, that is, the band as a whole and/or its members as individuals are not under a current recording contract from date of entry up to February 28, 2006. |

All band members must be Hong Kong ID Card holder. There are no restrictions on age or profession. |
| 3. |
Group size may range from 2 to 10 persons. Each person can participate in one group only. Members of a group should be the same throughout the entry to the final contest. Persons absent in the Heat cannot participate in the Final. No alternation or addition of members is permitted. |
| 4. |
Song played from entry to the Final must be the same. Original composition or re-arranged cover version is acceptable. All languages for vocal and most music categories are welcome except European classical music. Lyrics which express religious, racial discrimination, obscene sex, violence and vulgar roughness are prohibited. The performance time must not exceed 5 minutes or it may be penalized with mark deduction. |

Musical Instruments & P.A. System : |

| a) |
The Organizer will supply the following standard items : Guitar and bass guitar amplifiers, synthesizer, drumset and professional sound system. Contestants are responsible for the use of equipment provided by the Organizer. |
| b) |
Contestants must bring their own guitars, drumsticks and any others besides the above-mentioned. |
| c) |
The same combination of musical instruments must be used throughout the contest. |

Entry procedure : Please submit the followings to the Guitar Section, Tom Lee Music, 1-9 Cameron Lane, Tsimshatsui, Kowloon or Marketing Dept., Tom Lee Music, 11/F Silvercord Tower 1, 30 Canton Road, Tsimshatsui, Kowloon with indication of "Yamaha Asian Beat 2005". |

| Shortlisted bands are requested to submit entry fee of HK$100 before Novermber 14, 2005 at Tom Lee Music Main Showroom, 1-9 Cameron Lane, Tsimshatsui. |

Entry deadline : November 6, 2005 (Sunday) |
| 8. |
Representatives from the music industry will be invited to form the judging panel. Decisions of the judging panel shall be final and irrevocable regardless of circumstances. The bandlist of the Heat will be announced on Tom Lee Music website and individually notified by email. |
| 9. |
The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify contestants for breach of rules and regulations, and to amend any rules and regulations without prior notice. |
| 10. |
Participating groups should give the priority to the Organizer within 1 year by attending any music events organized by Tom Lee Music and Tom Lee Music Foundation. |
