精選老少咸宜、極受歡迎的民謠、電影主題曲、卡通音樂、輕音樂等編輯而成，同時還有理查•克萊德門的成名曲。小朋友在彈奏古典樂曲及技巧練習曲之餘，可藉著彈奏此曲集擴展出更豐富的音樂視野；而父母也必能歡懷欣喜地與小朋友共享這些甜蜜的曲調。下冊適合拜爾70首以上程度彈奏。

收錄多首著名鋼琴聯彈曲，以及還不曾用聯彈方式演奏的一些樂曲，包括貝多芬『土耳其進行曲』、舒伯特『軍隊進行曲』、約翰史特勞斯『撥奏波爾卡舞曲』等。指法標示讓兒童能一目瞭然，相較於上冊彈奏技巧較為困難，曲譜篇幅也長很多，適合拜爾學完以上程度使用。

變奏曲是古典時期的代表性音樂形式之一，從一個主題發展五段至十段左右的變奏形式，其中有音階化的變奏、八度跨彈的變奏，以及含有琶音、斷奏、裝飾音等奏法，不但可代替枯燥乏味的練習曲，若詳加練習，學生必可從中學習到種種彈奏技巧。
