More than 30 years ago, we introduced a clarinet that opened new markets for Buffet Crampon across Europe, the United States, Australia, and Asia. At the time, the B12 became the most accessible clarinet in our catalog. Today, in 2025, we’re proud to present the new generation of this iconic student clarinet — still highly affordable, while retaining the hallmark features that define our student range.

The B12 is a great choice for learners of all ages looking to start on a clarinet that is easy to play, reliable, and affordable. It’s also a solid option for more advanced musicians — amateurs, semi-professionals, or professionals — seeking a reliable backup or outdoor instrument.

Its ABS body makes it both lightweight and durable, providing excellent handling for younger players. Unlike grenadilla wood, ABS is highly resistant to changes in humidity, making it ideal for all-weather use without the risk of cracking. The nickel-plated nickel silver keywork offers a strong, hard-wearing mechanism, perfectly suited to frequent use and passionate beginners.
