STAR IN THE MOVIE – STEINWAY PIANO
Since the brand was founded in 1853, Steinway & Sons has always been an indispensable supporting actor in Hollywood movies and TV shows. It has been featured in countless of famous movies, and has even played a major plot point in an award-winning film.
In 2019, Steinway helped "Green Book" to win the 91st Academy Award for Best Picture. This film talks about the musical journey of African-American pianist Don Shirley.

Don’s driver Tony said to the venue manager “If there is no Steinway piano, then we will give up the performance." He emphasized that Don Shirley only played Steinway pianos during his performances, even though the nearest Steinway piano was 70 kilometers away.
In the movie "The Great Gatsby", the Steinway piano is featured center-stage in one the lavish parties thrown by the Gatsby himself.
In the movie "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn", the Steinway piano is featured in a memory of the family getting along warmly.
In the film "La La Land", the Steinway piano witnesses the moment when female lead-character Mia watches male-lead character Sebastian playing beautiful music pieces in a restaurant.
In the film "Alien: Covenant", famous director Ridley Scott chose to use a Steinway piano in the center of the space-faring ship, and had actor Michael Fassbender play the Steinway at the beginning of the film.
