The TAMA S.L.P. New-Vintage Hickory is built from six plies of select American hickory — a relative newcomer to the snare market . Paired with its 8-hole, 2.3mm triple-flanged Steel Mighty Hoops, the New-Vintage Hickory delivers a warm, articulate response and breathy top end that works especially well for jazz, blues, and funk-based styles of music. Offset mini brass tube legs deliver heaping handfuls of those mid-century visuals. All the while, top-shelf TAMA hardware and appointments — a Linear-Drive throw off and butt plate, 20-strand Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon snare wires, and premium Evans G1/Snare Side heads — supply the New-Vintage Hickory snare with great tone and performance from the first time you kit up.
